Gene Clark played a few solo concerts and then during one concert at Madame Wong's he met Carla Olson again. His manager Saul Davis already had succeeded in organizing some recording sessions with Gene Clark and some of the new groups he was managing, such as the TEXTONES (Carla Olson's band) - 2 songs in 1985 - or the LONG RYDERS (featuring Sid Griffin) - 1 song "Ivory Tower".

It did not take a long time until Gene Clark and Carla Olson entered a studio to record an album together. The album had some of the best songs Gene Clark had released. Both musicians really liked their work and there was even talk about a follow up album, which unfortunately never materialized.

Gene Clark and Carla Olson were joined for some concerts by Tom Stevens, the bass player from the LONG RYDERS. Sometimes other musicians augmented the group, like Skip Edwards, who met Gene Clark in 1977 when Edwards was a member of the CHRIS HILLMAN BAND, or Michael Huey.

In 1990 Gene Clark and Carla Olson came back together. There were even more talks about the possible follow up album. They also played some concerts together. One of these concerts was released on a CD later on in 1992.
